Behind the Scenes

In the Spring of 2004, we will begin to move into our new facility and open shortly thereafter. With that, we are working at a furious pace to get everything ready.  From exhibit design and layout, to all of the specimens that will reside at RMDRC, the work never ends!

From the picture above (starting top left, clockwise); Fossils being prepared, exhibit cabinets getting a final coat of paint, construction on more (and more) exhibit cabinets, and the assembly of one of the star skeleton casts - a 17' Xiphactinus (a HUGE fish you would never want to meet in person - don't worry, it's extinct).

RMDRC Under Construction

We have had many comments from excited residents since the 'skeleton' of the center is quickly beginning to take shape. As you can see from the photos below, we have had some snow up here in the Rocky Mountains recently. Although it is pretty to look at, it really isn't good when you are trying to finish a building project.

Over the course of the next few weeks, the shell of the center will be completed and walls will start to go up. We are getting excited too!

Triebold Paleontology, Inc. Finds a Home at RMDRC

Triebold Paleontology, Inc. is the head behind the bones of the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center. Providing all of the amazing real and cast specimens and working in the facility, TPI employees will be getting needed breathing room from the much smaller industrial building that they are currently occupying in Woodland Park, CO. Within the RMDRC, TPI employees will be working in directing, curation, fossil preparation, and guided tours of the exhibit area.

Announcing Something Special

The plans for the "Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center" (RMDRC) have been approved by the Woodland Park, CO Township. We will begin construction in a matter of a few weeks. The facility will be 18,000 sq. ft. in size with a 9,000 sq. ft. exhibit space. Specimens of the land, sea, and air will be represented in this space along with interactive exhibits and interpretive placards.
