Paleontologist Brent Breithaupt gave lecture on T.rex

In addition to the unveiling of our famous dinosaurian guest we were pleased to welcome Paleontologist Brent Breithaupt, the University of Wyoming Geological Museum Director, who presented a lecture on T.rex on Saturday, February 12th at 2 p.m. to a packed marine exhibit hall in the RMDRC.

“T. rex was one of the most impressive creatures ever to walk our planet standing 14 feet tall, stretching up to 45 feet long and weighing seven tons. After over a century of research, discoveries during the last decade continue to provide interesting insights about this dinosaur,” Breithaupt said. “Restorations of T. rex over the years illustrate how science has progressed and how our ideas on prehistoric beasts have changed, as new information and interpretations become available. Continued research has refined our view of this beast from the early restorations of a bulky, three-fingered, tail-dragging reptile, to those of a sleek, active, specialized dinosaur."
