Celtic Ceili Fundraiser at the Dinosaur Resource

Apr. 6, 2005 On Friday, April 29, “Celtic Céilí,” a Celtic celebration benefiting The Firefighters Fund will take place at The Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center from 7-11 pm. Dance to the tunes of Ceol Céilí (pronounced keol kay-lee) and their eclectic collection of ballads, reels, jigs and hornpipes from 7 to 10 pm. St. Brendan’s dancers will be calling the ceili, doing dance demonstrations, and providing some Celtic dance lessons to the tunes of Ceol Ceili. Enjoy mead from Spruce Mountain Meadery, honey wine from the gods, created in Larkspur. Fire Station Red Wines will also be served. There will be a silent auction full of great items donated by local businesses to benefit The Firefighters Fund. The Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center is located at 201 S. Fairview in Woodland Park, “at the palms,” only 18 miles west of Colorado Springs. Tickets are $25 and are available at Java Junction or Gold Hill Liquors located in Gold Hill Square in Woodland Park or call 719-687-6670. Beltane is the Celtic holiday traditionally marking the arrival of summer in ancient times. Beltane is celebrated at the time when the sun is fully released from his bondage of winter and able to rule over summer and life once again. Beltane marks the passage into the growing time. You’re invited Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1 to join the fun at the Holistic Renaissance Festival 2005 at the Ute Pass Cultural Center in Woodland Park. Dance round the May Pole with the May Queen and her court, the Green Man, Lords and Ladies, sword fighters, court jesters, dancers and musicians. Vendors selections will include gifts, holistic and natural products, stones and crystals, jewelry, readers, aura photos, wood carvings, henna, birdhouses, garden items, and a whole lot more including fresh roasted Java Junction coffee!! Ceol Ceili will play at 1pm on Saturday. Starr Mountain Performing Arts kids will dance at 2 pm on Saturday. SCA Dragonsspine members will be on hand all day Saturday dancing, sword fighting, and demonstrating different Celtic arts. County Cork will be performing Sunday at 1 pm. Proceeds from this weekend benefit The Firefighters Fund. The festival is open Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Be sure to come in your renaissance finest! Dry food items will be accepted for Community Cupboard and new or used books for the Friends of the Library. Monetary donations will be accepted for The Firefighters Fund.
