Mar. 28, 2005 For thousands of years, man has told stories and drawn pictures of mythical beasts that roamed the earth, swam in the seas and soared in the heavens. Come explore the rich history of these beasts at “Dino’s and Dragons” April 29 through May 1 at the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center “At the Palms” in Woodland Park. The mystical weekend kicks off with “Celtic Céilí” benefiting The Firefighters Fund from 7-11 pm on Friday, April 29. Dance to the tunes of Ceol Céilí (pronounced keol kay-lee) and their eclectic collection of ballads, reels, jigs and hornpipes. Enjoy mead from Spruce Mountain Meadery, honey wine from the gods, created in Larkspur. There will be a silent auction full of great items donated by local businesses to benefit The Firefighters Fund. Twelve local fire departments, including NETC, Divide, Florissant, Lake George, Mountain Communities, 4 Mile, Guffey, Victor, Cripple Creek, Trumball, Cascade, and Green Mt. Falls/Chipeta Park and Woodland Park Ambulance Service benefit from the evening’s activities, including the silent auction. Tickets are $25 and are available at Java Junction or Gold Hill Liquors in Gold Hill Square or call 719-687-6670 for information. Saturday and Sunday enjoy Dino Bingo, Dragon Games, Guided Tours, “Dino’s and Dragons” lectures, Storytime, Face painting and even Decorate Your Own Dragon Mask at the Dinosaur Resource Center.
