Colorado Media Saves Dinosaur Head

Thanks to the quick response from numerous Colorado news media sources, Pebbles, the now famous Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center Albertosaurus, has her head back.

Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center Director Dave Ehlert is happy to announce the return of Pebbles’ head, stolen from a billboard on I-25 Monument Hill over the weekend.

“Viacom Outdoor representatives went to the billboard location to access the damage this morning to discover the head extension laying against the fence,” stated Ehlert.  “We are all extremely elated that Pebbles has been returned to us unharmed.”

Pebbles, a 75 million year old Albertosaurus, is featured on a large billboard on Monument Hill.  Thieves stole a 9 foot by 4 foot extension of her head from the billboard between Friday evening and Tuesday morning.  Due to the quick and thorough coverage by numerous news sources in Colorado, Pebbles skull was a little too hot to handle.  Her recovery is a great example of the power of the local media.

Pebbles and her friends can be seen at the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodland Park, 18 miles west of Colorado Springs.  Her head return is just in time for the unveiling of her distant relative, the T. rex, scheduled to go on exhibit Saturday, February 12 at the Dinosaur Resource Center.

THANKS EVERYBODY!!!! We’re amazed she was returned to us unharmed.
